On Thursday, June 8, our good friends got married in a little village next to Bergamo. This merry occasion was a great chance to prolong the weekend and to go on a road trip around the Lake Garda. Garda is stunning, and the short trip was absolutely worth it! Breathtaking views, clear water, cozy towns and delicious food: you will find all this around the lake. In this post, you will find some useful tips on what to see, where to stay and what to eat if you stay in the North of Italy for a weekend.
Last year we have already been to Morocco, but very shortly, only three days. That time we visited the northern Morocco and its three cities Rabat, Chefchaouen and Fes (A weekend away in Morocco). Many people told us afterwards that we were crazy, to travel so fast and so intense. However, this was a conscious decision: we travel so quickly in order to find the places we like the most to be able to come back there… Morocco was one of these places. So here we were, in Morocco, this time for 6 days and 4 cities on our itinerary: Agadir, Essaouira, Marrakesh and Casablanca.
Especially now, when the weather in Berlin makes us dreaming about better (read: warmer) place, it is so satisfying – thinking about last long weekend on Sicily. We had such luck with the wetter, bright sun and clear blue skyes three days out of four, temperatures over 18 degrees, everything blossoming and pleasantly smelling… This all was as a bonus to the beautiful nature, cozy cities, delicious food, fresh vegetables and good wine. Therefore, this post is less words, more pictures, juicy colors and captured impressions.
Savor Wiener schnitzel in Vienna, taste locally brewed beer in Bratislava and soak in thermal pools in Budapest – all this is perfectly possible to enjoy during one prolonged weekend and I will tell you how.
…or some also spell it as Macao. Officially, this autonomous territory is called the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The great advantage of its autonomousness is that we do not need a visa to enter the country (and stay there during next 30 days).
About Hong Kong
When I was preparing for this post, I suspected that Hong Kong has an outstanding position in the world economics. Although I didn’t think that this position is so high: Hong Kong possesses the highest Financial Development Index score and in 2016 has crowned the World Competitiveness Yearbook leaving Switzerland is on the 2nd place, Germany on the 12th and Russia is on the 44th. This, probably, explains the high prices in this megapolis. Oh, how high they are! Hong Kong even beats New York at some points, not talking about Berlin. Nevertheless, cheer up those who travel on a budget, there is also a good news: in the bars area they have happy hour all around and in Hong Kong you can eat in the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant.
Located off the northwest corner of the Panay Island, the small island Boracay won the best island in the world award in 2012 and since then the popularity of this island grows exponentially. We were lured by its great white beaches and spent three nights on the island.
This Tuesday we came back from New York, the Number One travel destination in the world. I liked the city a lot and was impressed by the scale and size a lot. This city has so much to offer in all aspects of life (if you have enough money, of course)… Right, there is a but. Some people would definitely throw the stones at me… but I didn’t like New York as much as it was expected from me. Continue reading
Probably, Romania is one of few countries where any weather is reasonable and has its advantages. Take the rain and fog and imagine how authentic the Transylvanian castles will look like in this ambience close to that you depict after watching all those Dracula movies… Take the snowfall and envision the cozy small Brasov all covered in white… The weather when the sun is shining does not need a separate presentation.
We had only nine full days for our Philippine trip but we managed to visit three big cities: Manila, Cebu and Angeles (which does not really count as we were there only late at night) and enjoyed two islands: Boracay and Palawan. I will start my Philippine blog entry series with some tips and tricks about the three metropolises we have been to.
